§ Mr. Michael Marshallasked the Secretary of State for Trade what assurances he has received that the Japanese Government's commitment to timely discussions on stainless steel bar exports to the United Kingdom in the second half of 1977, accepted in August 1976 as an alternative to pursuing an anti-dumping case on those products, will be effectively pursued as a separate commitment within the overall arrangement recently made between the EEC Commission and Japan.
§ Mr. MeacherThe EEC Commission has agreed to discuss with the Japanese as soon as possible Japan's exports of stainless steel bar to the United Kingdom in the second half of 1977. There will be a preparatory discussion among member States and the Commission in Brussels shortly.
