§ 20. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is now able to confirm that the taxation of benefits in the way of cars, travel warrants, houses and flats will apply to Ministers of the Crown in the same way as to other taxpayers.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonThe general treatment of houses and flats is under review, following the setting up of the interdepartmental working party on representative occupation last year; but, subject to any proposals which may emerge from this review, I can confirm that the same rules regarding the taxation of the benefits referred to will apply to Ministers as to other taxpayers.
