HC Deb 10 January 1977 vol 923 cc357-8W
26. Mr. Hastings

asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will make a statement on the latest sales position for Concorde.

Mr. Les Huckfield

The manufacturers, in conjunction with the two Governments, are continuing their efforts to find customers for the five unsold Concordes. Proposals, mainly for lease, have been put to a number of interested review, and are taken into account in framing all our policies. Full account will be taken of the contribution small firms can make to employment in inner city areas, including inner London, in the Government's review of inner city area problems. A statement on the outcome of the review will be made in the spring of this year.
