HC Deb 10 January 1977 vol 923 c356W
Mr. Molloy

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will consider initiating discussions with the relevant EEC Commission concerning joint endeavours to limit aircraft noise.

Mr. Clinton Davis

The EEC Commission is already discussing these matters. However, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) is the appropriate international body which develops standards to limit aircraft noise. Harmonisation of action in this field is undertaken in Europe by the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), which has 20 member States, including all EEC countries.
