HC Deb 25 February 1977 vol 926 c734W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Attorney-General when the Director of Public Prosecutions will be in a position to make a decision on the police investigation into Pergamon Press.

Mr. Weetch

asked the Attorney-General when the Director of Public Prosecutions will be in a position to make a decision on the police investigation into Pergamon Press.

The Solicitor-General

I have been dealing with this case throughout at the request of my right hon. and learned Friend the Attorney-General, as he was concerned as counsel in civil proceedings before his appointment. At his request I have not informed him of any matter relating to the case. It is hoped that the Director of Public Prosecutions will be in a position to decide on the question of proceedings by the beginning of May.
