HC Deb 25 February 1977 vol 926 c736W
Mr. Giles Shaw

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if, in view of his decision to reverse his predecessor's ruling that a proportion of costs incurred by bakers were classified as allowable costs under the Price Code, he will set out his reasons for so doing and the terms upon which he expects the present discount scheme to operate within the code.

Mr. Maclennan

Neither my right hon. Friend nor his predecessor has made any ruling under the Price Code. The interpretation of the code and its application are the responsibility of the Price Commission.
