§ 53. Mr. Carlisleasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the sum of money today which would have the same value as the sum of (a) £15.75 and (b) £9.45 paid to solicitors under the legal aid scheme for attendance at court on 1st January 1961.
§ Mr. Joel BarnettIf the change in the value of these sums is measured by the movement in the retail price index, the equivalent figures at January 1977 are (a) £54.49 and (b) £32.69.
