§ Lord TREFGARNEasked Her Majesty's Government:
What restrictions are imposed on British Airways with respect to the number of passengers they may carry and the number of flights they may operate to Miami.
Lord ORAMIn accordance with the agreement for matching capacity to demand on North Atlantic routes during the current winter season, which was announced by the Department of Trade on 8th October 1976, British Airways and National Airlines have each been operating five services per week during the present month and six services per week during the rest of the winter. As part of these arrangements, British Airways have limited sales of seats on their B747s to correspond more closely with the seating on National Airlines' DC10s. However, these restrictions have been relaxed as and when necessary in order to meet peak traffic demands.
