Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland which bodies have so far submitted opinions on the Department of Education's consultative document on the reorganisation of secondary education.

At 17th February formal views had been received from the Association of Governing Bodies of Grammar Schools in Northern Ireland, the Northern Ireland Women Teachers' Association, the Ulster Headmistresses' Association, the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland and the Social Democratic and Labour Party. In addition, preliminary views have been submitted by the Northern Ireland Association for Comprehensive Education and the Unionist Party of Northern Ireland. About 90 submissions have been received from various local groups such as parent-teacher associations, management committees and teaching staff of individual schools.
