asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list the Gaelic Athletic Association clubs in Northern Ireland which have received grants from public funds in excess of £5,000 during 1975–76 and 1976–77, indicating the purpose for which each grant was used.

In the 1975–76 financial year one Gaelic Athletic Association club, the Wolfe Tone Gaelic Football Club, Lurgan, received grant under the Recreation and Youth Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1973 in excess of £5,000. The grant was made to the club in respect of approved expenditure incurred in the development of its playing field.

In the current financial year four Gaelic Athletic Association clubs have received grants in excess of £5,000. They are: Augher Gaelic Football Club in respect of the provision of a sports pavilion; St. Killian's Gaelic Football Club, Whitecross, for the development of playing fields; Castlewellan Gaelic Football Club in respect of the development of playing fields; Glenullin Gaelic Foot- ball Club, Garvagh, for the purchase and development of playing fields.
