HC Deb 23 February 1977 vol 926 c590W
Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he is satisfied that the existing Air Travel Reserve Fund provides sufficient protection for holidaymakers; and if he is further satisfied that the conditions and guarantees of the fund are clearly enough known to the holidaymaker.

Mr. Meacher

As announced at the time when it was established, the fund is designed to supplement protection given under the Civil Aviation Authority's bonding arrangements for certain bookings by air. It does not cover other arrangements by holidaymakers in this country or overseas. The conditions and extent of protection are clearly stated in a special pamphlet prepared for holidaymakers—Improved Protection for Air Travel Bookings, ATRF-1—available through retail outlets of the travel trade, citizens advice bureaux and trading standards offices.
