HC Deb 21 February 1977 vol 926 c475W
Mr. Sims

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if, further to her reply to the hon. Member for Ealing, Acton (Sir G. Young) Official Report, 8th February, c. 644, she will list the names of the establishments, together with the number of student places, at which initial teacher training and in-service training will be available if her proposals of 24th January are implemented in (a) the parliamentary constituency of Chislehurst, (b) the London borough of Bromley, (c) the boroughs of Croydon and Bexley and (d) North-West Kent.

Mr. Oakes

In North-West Kent, Dartford College, as part of Thames Polytechnic, is among the ILEA institutions for which a total of 2,000 places, including in-service provision, has been proposed. In the other areas named there would be no initial training; arrangements for in-service training will be a matter for consideration by the local education authorities concerned.
