§ Mr. Harold WalkerTransitional provisions were made on 23rd August 1976 in the Employment Protection Act 1975 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1976 to provide that maternity pay will be payable only where the first six weeks of absence for pregnancy or confinement begins on or after 6th April 1977.
