HC Deb 21 February 1977 vol 926 c462W
Mr. Kinnock

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the number of general hospital places per 100,000 of the population in each area of England and Wales for which statistics are collected.

Mr. Moyle

The latest information on average numbers of beds available in hospitals classified as acute, mainly acute and partly acute is for the year 1975. I would refer my hon. Friend to my reply to the hon. Member for Tonbridge and Mailing (Mr. Stanley) on 21st December 1976—[Vol. 923, c.237–40.]—which gives this information for each area and region in England. The information for areas in Wales is as follows:

Gwent AHA 379
Gwynedd AHA 411
