I have nothing to add to my right hon. Friend's statement to the House on 15th December 1976.

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what discussion have been held by his Department about the proposed sale by the Government of part of its holdings of shares in BP.

My right hon. Friend is in close consultation with the Governor of the Bank of England about the arrangements for the sale of part of the public sector's holding in BP.
