Mr. Jim Callaghan

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services for the last period of 12 months, for which figures are available, what percentage of appeals relating to the right to, and the amount of, supplementary benefit, was decided in favour of the appellant in England and Wales, and in each region of England and Wales, respectively; and for the same period and on a national and regional basis, what percentage of appeals was decided in the appellant's favour when he (a) attended and (b) did not attend the tribunal and (c) was represented by a solicitor, a social worker, or a friend.
