§ Dr. John A. CunninghamThe Electricity Council is undertaking research into the acceptability of token-operated prepayment meters to consumers. Until the results of this research are available in about two years' time it would be premature to undertake the production and installation of a commercial meter, but the Council has drafted a technical specification which is now in the hands of meter and other manufacturers. In order376W to avoid duplication, the British Gas Corporation will be kept informed of the result of the Electricity Council's studies.
