HC Deb 18 February 1977 vol 926 cc404-5W
Mr. George Gardiner

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many cigarettes are sold in National Health Service hospitals in the United Kingdom each year; and what steps he is taking to discourage smoking in hospitals.

Mr. Moyle

I regret that the information requested is not available. I shall shortly issue fresh guidance to health authorities on measures to limit and discourage smoking in hospitals and other health premises.
