HC Deb 18 February 1977 vol 926 cc394-5W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what were the total amounts paid by way of architects and associated fees in 1973–74, 1974–75 and 1975–76 in respect of abandoned building projects which were sponsored or approved by district councils, education and library boards, health and social services boards, fire authorities, police authorities, and electricity services; and if he will list the names of the projects, the fees involved and the architects to whom the fees were paid.

Mr. Carter

The information in respect of the Northern Ireland health and social services boards is as follows:

None of the building projects sponsored by the two fire authorities in 1973–74 or their successor, the Fire Authority for Northern Ireland, in 1974–75 or 1975–76 by the Northern Ireland Electricity Service or the Police Authority for Northern Ireland in any of the three years has been abandoned.

The information sought for education and library boards' projects is being obtained from the boards, and will be given as soon as possible.

So far as district councils are concerned, these are matters which are their responsibility.
