§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many, and which categories of employees, in the nationalised industries for which he has responsibility receive full pay during sick leave, provided they do not claim sickness benefit, plus the value of the tax refunds to which they would be entitled if they were claiming sickness benefit.
§ Mr. FreesonThe British Waterways Board, as employer, is responsible for the arrangements for paying its employees during sick leave. Sickness benefit is, of course, not taxable.
