HC Deb 17 February 1977 vol 926 c330W
Mr. Gordon Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement on what action is being taken by the EEC Commission in respect of United Kingdom Government procurement policy for United Kingdom supplies to North Sea oil developments.

Dr. J. Dickson Mabon

The Government's policy is that operators on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf should give a full and fair opportunity to British suppliers to compete for orders. On 3rd October 1976 the EEC Commission sought clarification of this policy, which the Government gave on 16th December 1976.
