§ Mr. Cyril Smithasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will take steps to make certain that copies of "Rules of Conduct" for use by nationalised boards in relation to rights to cut off users of electricity and gas are freely available at all showrooms, in the light of the fact that some showrooms have telephoned Granada Television in Manchester to inquire for details about the leaflet, consequent on their "This is Your Rights" programme.
§ Dr. John A. CunninghamThe document in question is the Code of Practice for the Payment of Domestic Electricity and Gas Bills, of which, as my right hon Friend informed the hon. Member for Woolwich, East (Mr. Cartwright) on 27th January, copies have been widely distributed by the industries. No requests for it have been made to Granada Television by electricity or gas showrooms, all of which have copies. I understand that a few inquiries were received from local authority social service workers who had not yet received their copies of the code, or did not recognise this document under the description quoted by the hon. Member.
