§ Mr. Gryllsasked the Secretary of State for Industry, with reference to his reply, Official Report, 7th February 1977, what are the methods utilised by his Department in monitoring Chrysler UK product plans and volume forecasts on which the 5th January 1976 Agreement is based.
Mr. Alan WilliamsMonthly reports are received by my Department covering 11 significant indicators of performance in considerable detail. These reports include analyses and explanations of variations from plan, and forecasts for the balance of the year. Additionally, my Department, advised by Messrs. Coopers and Lybrand, has access to a great deal of other management information, and meets the management frequently.
§ Mr. Gryllsasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will make a statement as to what progress has been made towards the introduction of Chrysler's new sub-compact car following the agreement of 5th January between Chrysler UK Ltd. and Her Majesty's Government.
§ Mr. Gryllsasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he, or any of his Department officials, visited the Chrysler UK Ltd., plants at Ryton, Stoke, Linwood, Dunstable and Luton since the signing of the 5th January 1976 agreement between Chrysler UK Ltd. and the Government.
Mr. Alan WilliamsMy hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Industry has visited Ryton and Stoke and will visit Ryton again tomorrow. Officials have visited these plants and the Whitely administration centre on a total of 20 occasions.
