§ Mr. Crawfordasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what would be the loss to the Exchequer in the United Kingdom, in England and in Scotland, respectively, if the 8 per cent. levy on the self-employed were abolished.
224W
§ Mr. OrmeI would refer the hon. Member to my reply to him on Wednesday 2nd February 1977.—[Vol. 925, c.197.] The levy in Northern Ireland would raise the sum by a further £2 million. It is estimated that one-tenth of the Great Britain levy comes from Scotland, but I regret that separate proportions for England and Wales are not available.
