HC Deb 16 February 1977 vol 926 cc236-7W
Mr. George Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what action is currently in hand in his Department relating to the historic sites and objects at New River Head, London, EC1.

Mr. Shore

I am aware of local concern about various historic structures situated on land owned by the Thames Water Authority at New River Head. I understand that some necessary repair work is to be carried out on some of the structures, and that problems relating to others are to be discussed by representatives of the Islington London Borough Council and the Thames Water Authority. My Department is in close touch with both the Greater London Council and the borough council, so that we can help with advice if it is sought, or take any necessary action under the Planning Acts.
