HC Deb 16 February 1977 vol 926 c219W
Mr. Newton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the number of patients in England awaiting admission to National Health Service hospitals at the latest date for which figures are available.

Mr. Ennals

Hospital in-patient waitting lists show only a small increase during the last six-monthly period for which figures are available. The figures for all specialities in England are:

30th September 1975 519,552
31st March 1976 583,851
30th September 1976 589,238*
* Provisional.
