HC Deb 16 February 1977 vol 926 c221W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what compensation is to be paid to persons who have lost money through having to pay interest to creditors because of refunds held up as a result of computer delays at the Department of Health and Social Services Central Office, Newcastle.

Mr. Orme

There is no provision under the Social Security Acts for interest to be added either by the contributor in the case of contributions paid late or by my Department in the case of delay in making refunds.
