HC Deb 15 February 1977 vol 926 c165W
Sir P. Bryan

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he will require the National Coal Board and the Yorkshire Water Board to make a fresh assessment of the effect of the new Selby coal mine on the drainage of the area following the recent floods at Naburn and Stillingfleet.

Mr. Eadie

I am informed that the areas referred to in the Question are subject to regular flooding, and have no evidence at present that the recent instances are exceptional. If the hon. Gentleman has such evidence, perhaps he will write to me and further inquiries can then be made.
