HC Deb 15 February 1977 vol 926 cc121-2W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Trade how many staff in his Department are engaged in the surveillance of UN sanctions against Rhodesia, so far as they apply to the United Kingdom.

Mr. Meacher

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 14th February 1977; Vol. 926, c. 9], gave the following information:

None of my Department's staff is exclusively engaged in this work. A number have some concern in the course of their wider duties—for example, import and export licensing—with the implementation of the Government's sanctions policy on Rhodesia, for which the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has prime responsibility.
