asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) how many employees have been dismissed from British Railways in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;

(2) how many employees have been dismissed from the British Gas Corporation in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;

(3) how many employees have been dismissed from the Electricity Council and boards in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;

(4) how many employees have been dismissed from the British Steel Corporation in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;

(5) how many employees have been dismissed from the Post Office Corporation in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;

(6) how many employees have been dismissed from the British Transport Docks Board in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;

(7) how many employees have been dismissed from British Airways and the British Airports Authority in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;

(8) how many employees have been dismissed from the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board and the South of Scotland Electricity Board in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed,

(9) how many employees have been dismissed from the National Coal Board in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;

(10) how many employees have been dismissed from the British Waterways Board in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;

(11) how many employees have been dismissed from the Transport Holding Company in the last 12 months for refusing to join a trade union; and what was the length of service of each employee dismissed;
