asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many copies of each of the following newspapers are purchased by his Department in order to keep himself and senior civil servants informed: The Times, Financial Times, Yorkshire Post, and Birmingham Post, respectively.

The Ministry of Defence purchases centrally the following numbers of the newspapers listed for the use of Ministers and senior civil servants: The Times, 181; Financial Times, 106; Yorkshire Post, three; Birmingham Post, one.
