Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many copies of each of the following newspapers are purchased by his Department in order to keep himself and senior civil servants informed: The Times, Financial Times, Yorkshire Post, and Birmingham Post, respectively.

Copies of these newspapers are purchased as follows:The Times, 111 copies; Financial Times, 113 copies; Yorkshire Post, seven copies; Birmingham Post, eight copies.

Mr. Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many copies of each of the following newspapers are puchased every day by his Department in order to keep himself and senior civil servants informed on Scottish affairs: the Scotsman, the Glasgow Herald, the Press and Journal, the Daily Record, the Scottish Daily Express and the Dundee Courier and Advertiser.

Copies are purchased as follows: theScotsman, nine; the Glasgow Herald, seven; the Press and Journal, two; the Daily Record, one; the Scottish Daily Express, one; the Dundee Courier and Advertiser, one.
