HC Deb 15 February 1977 vol 926 cc170-1W
Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is the average time it takes to deliver and fix a hook for hanging a coat in the National Health Service;

(2) what action he can take to speed up the supply and fitting of hooks for coat hanging in the National Health Service.

Mr. Moyle

Information on the average time to fix a coat hook in the National Health Service could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. The time taken to deliver and fix coat hooks depends on the day-to-day availability of maintenance staff and the relative priority of other work in hand. Works organisations in the National Health Service will provide as prompt a service as possible in the light of local circumstances. The question of whether any particular kind of work needs to be speeded up is one for local decision.
