HC Deb 14 February 1977 vol 926 c62W
Mr. Lee

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the average level, in percentage terms, of water reservoirs in the United Kingdom; and whether or not he regards the current accumulation of water as being adequate to meet the needs of another dry summer comparable in character with that of 1976.

Mr. Marks

Most of the impounding reservoirs in England and Wales are full or nearly so and some are overflowing. Supplies should be assured in almost all areas even if next summer proves as dry as the last.
