HC Deb 14 February 1977 vol 926 cc51-2W
Mr. Macfarlane

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she has requested a list of the capital projects which the Science Research Council is cancelling in 1977 as a result of the public expenditure cuts; and, if so, whether she will publish a list.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

The Science Research Council tells me that to date it has decided not to make a capital contribution to the cost of an international infra-red astronomy satellite, but it is still prepared to make available the facilities of its ground station at Chilbolton for the project.
