HC Deb 14 February 1977 vol 926 c7W
Mr. Moonman

asked the Secretary of State for Trade to what extent the decline in the expansion of Great Britain's exports to Israel is the result of the blacklisting of British companies which trade with Israel by the Arab world or of the fear of such blacklisting.

Mr. Dell

The decline in the growth of United Kingdom's exports to Israel appears to reflect the overall pattern of Israel's imports. The latest official Israeli trade statistics show that in the first 11 months of 1976, compared with the same period in 1975, imports from the United Kingdom increased in value by 11 per cent. while imports from all sources fell by nearly 1 per cent. Furthermore, the United Kingdom is shown to have taken a larger share of the total Israeli import market.
