HC Deb 14 February 1977 vol 926 c41W
Mr. Ashley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied with the domiciliary service for the assessment and fitting of hearing aids; if he will advise the creation of joint consultative committees to consider the setting up of an efficient domiciliary hearing aid service; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Alfred Morris

It is for the health authority to make the necessary arrangements for a domiciliary visiting service, and for the consultant to decide whether a patient needs such a service. I am raising my hon. Friend's suggestion with the Advisory Committee on Services for Hearing-Impaired People and, meanwhile, will be glad to look into any particular case of difficulty my hon. Friend may wish to refer to me.
