§ Mr. Hastingsasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he has yet disposed of the RAF fleet of eight Beverley freighters; if so, to whom; and whether he has considered the impact on British air freight companies if these aircraft and spares are sold to foreign competitors.
§ Mr. WellbelovedTwo Beverley aircraft have been sold, of which one is now in a museum and the other is held by an aero club for non-flying use. A third aircraft is at the RAF Museum Hendon. All the other Beverleys were broken up 109W for scrap, except one retained temporarily for ground display at RAF Finningley. The second part of the Question does not, therefore, arise.
