HC Deb 11 February 1977 vol 925 c864W
Mrs. Chalker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the current staffing ratio of (a) nurses and (b) attendants, to elderly persons in local authority Part III accommodation; and how this compares with the three previous years.

Mr. Moyle

The professional qualifications of staff employed by local authorities in their old people's homes are not recorded centrally. In 1975 there was one member of staff with a caring function per 3.17 residents. In 1974, 1973 and 1972 the equivalent ratios were 3.35, 3.51 and 3.71 respectively.
