HC Deb 10 February 1977 vol 925 c832W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he has discussed with the EEC Commission the form and impact of State aids to industry; and whether these have received the approval of the Commission as being consistent with the provisions of the Rome Treaties.

Mr. Meacher

Following our accession to the EEC, the Commission was informed of all systems of aid then available to industry. Since then it has been informed of a number of new aid plans which have been finalised, following discussion with the Commission, in a form compatible with the Common Market.
