§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he has discussed with the EEC Commission the form and impact of State aids to industry; and whether these have received the approval of the Commission as being consistent with the provisions of the Rome Treaties.
§ Mr. MeacherFollowing our accession to the EEC, the Commission was informed of all systems of aid then available to industry. Since then it has been informed of a number of new aid plans which have been finalised, following discussion with the Commission, in a form compatible with the Common Market.
