§ Dr. McDonaldasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection whether his Department has now completed discussions with local authority associations on the grants in 1977–78 to maintain the coverage of consumer advice centres and price survey schemes in Great Britain at 31st March 1977 level.
§ Mr. John FraserMy Department has now completed these discussions and is today sending a circular to all local authorities in Great Britain inviting applications for grants for consumer advice centres. We have asked that all applications should reach the Department by 14th March 1977. A circular announcing the continuation of the surveys for a further 12 months from 1st April 1977 was sent to local authorities and organisations operating such schemes on 8th February.
