HC Deb 10 February 1977 vol 925 cc759-60W
24. Mr. Wigley

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is satisfied that current Government policy ensures the maximum home production of cheese products; and what is the anticipated effects on home-produced cheese of the latest Government attitude towards imported New Zealand cheese in future years.

Mr. Bishop

The Government's policy towards the expansion of milk products production is set out in "Food From Our Own Resources". When the question of future arrangements for imports of New Zealand cheese is considered the position of our own cheese manufacturers will be one of the factors to be taken into account.
