§ Mr. Sproatasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what action his Department takes when it is discovered that money given to a social security claimant for the purchase of furniture is spent by the claimant on buying a car.
§ Mr. OrmeI would refer the hon. Member to my reply on 15th November 1976.—[Vol. 919, c.406–7.] My Department has fully investigated many allegations of this kind but has yet to find a single case where they were well founded.
