Mr. Newens

asked the Minister for Overseas Development (1) what provisions have been made to provide each of the countries of the ASEAN Alliance, namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, with technical assistance; what sums are involved in each case; and how many trainees have benefited in each case for each year since 1973;

(2) what is the value of the economic aid which has been provided by Her Majesty's Government to each of the members of the ASEAN Alliance, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, for each year from 1973 to the present.

The information sought in my hon. Friend's two Questions for the years 1973, 1974 and 1975 is given in the two tables below. Complete figures for 1976 are not yet available.
