§ Mr. Adleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will bring forward proposals, in line with the suggestion of the majority Bullock Report, to appoint consumers to the boards of regional water authorities in the same proportion as proposed by Bullock for worker-directors on company boards.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThe consultative document on the review of the water industry stressed that water authorities
must be responsive to the views of the public at large".The Government's conclusions on any necessary changes in the membership structure of the authorities will be announced in the White Paper to issue in the spring.
