HC Deb 03 February 1977 vol 925 cc317-8W
Mr. Higgins

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what will be the cost of the proposed jobcentre at Worthing House, South Street, Worthing; and what estimate he has made of the number of people who will be found employment who would not otherwise have done so through the existing services provided by his Department at Crown House, Worthing.

Mr. Golding

I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that in the case of the proposed jobcentre in Worthing the cost of works services and supplies will be in the region of £16,000 and £10,300, respectively. It is not the practice of the Employment Service Agency to divulge rent details in respect of individual properties, as these are confidential between the lessor, the agency and the Property Services Agency, which acts as ESA's agents in property matters. It is estimated that an increase in the region of 1,000 placings per year will result when the jobcentre is open.
