§ Mr. HoramAbout 2,050 route miles of railway in England are electrified at present. Completion of the Bedford St. Pancras electrification scheme will add about 50 miles to this. British Railways' estimate of the total cost of the Bedford-St. Pancras project, at May 1975 prices, is £80 million, of which electrification accounts for £18.6 million.
