§ 32. Mr. Michael McNair-Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he is satisfied with the cost-effectiveness of jobcentres.
§ Mr. GoldingI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that the jobcentre programme has been continually monitored, and that a major evaluation is now in progress, the results of which will be available shortly. Indications so far are that jobcentres are more cost-effective than employment offices offering the same range of services.
