Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether she will recommend a special grant to Temple Newsam House, Leeds, to enable it to acquire one of the Mostyn flagons of 1601 which are among the most outstanding masterpieces of English silver of the Elizabethan period, in order that both may remain in the country, bearing in mind the lack of funds available for the acquisition of works of art by the provincial museums and galleries.
