§ Mr. Brothertonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) when she expects the findings of the Science Research Council study on snails to be published;
(2) over what period of time the Science Research Council grant of £9,000 for study of snails has been allocated;
(3) how many people will be engaged on the Science Research Council study of snails on an island in the Bristol Channel.
§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsAn investigator, who also has other responsibilities, and a technicians will be engaged on this study of snails, which are frequently used by geneticists for research on the way in which all animals evolve into species and602W sub-species. Grant has been allocated for two years from January 1978. It is expected that a final report will be submitted to the Science Research Council within nine months of completion of the project and the results may be published in 1981.
